Packing jewelry for your trip should be the fun part—and it can be with these tips from our friends at Silpada jewelry. They share what to pack and how to pack it so you can be as well accessorized on the road as you are at home.

  • Since sterling silver jewelry goes with every outfit, start with packing your favorites, like a longer statement necklace like the Confetti necklace (shown below) and a sparkling stunner like the Marvel Necklace.

  • For mid-length (and this is where it gets fun!) you can throw in colors that coordinate with your oh-so-fabulous maxi or scalloped shorts.  Examples:  To bring out the blue in your paisley dress, the Sky Stone Necklace  is a perfect fit or for your colorful coral shorts, add the Sloan Necklace (shown below). This way, you can just wear your silver pieces to match everything or add in that pop of color to make the look your own.

• Secure earrings through buttons

• Use zip-lock baggies to keep your jewelry safely stored and categorized: Necklaces, earrings, rings, etc.

Sadly, we’ve lost more jewelry than we care to think about on our girls’ getaways. When you overpack the accessories and then hurriedly repack a bag when it’s time to head to the airport, those small pieces are unfortunately all to easy to leave behind.

  • Make sure to carry-on jewelry with you. There’s nothing worse than lost luggage.
  • Limit the amount of extravagant jewelry you bring to keep any losses or damage at a minimum. If you do bring valuable jewelry, make sure it’s insured.
  • Make sure you keep your jewelry clean with the help of a jewelry cleaning cloth and polish from time to time. Use special cloths used for cleaning 925 sterling silver jewelry as it gives much better and long lasting results than other normal cloths.
